“Mark…Mark….,” Kian hissed on the dark from his bed.

“Yes, Kian?”half sleep half wake up.

    “I can’t sleep.”

That alarmed him. Mark rushed into Kian’s bed, “You can’t breathe? Are you cold?” with checking Kian’s back for any wet back.

   “No! I’m fine, Mark!”

   “So what’s wrong?”

“Please sing for me, Mark,” with greening his cute face.

Mark had to sigh and smile, “Kian, it’s late at night, we could waking up everybody.”

“Do with slowly, Mark. Please…..” he grinned pleading.

Mark sighed with shaking his head, “Alright,” then started to sing.

“Hush…don’t you worry now, just close your eyes and you’ll see the stars. They will lead you to heaven, where the happiness will around you.

“Just close your eyes, and make a wish for it comes true. Just close your eyes and don’t you worry, cos I’ll be right here with you. Keep you warm and safe. Just close your eyes….”

It didn’t need long time when finally Kian fell to sleep. It was the song Mark made for Kian when Kian had his pneumonia and sang it every night till Kian wake up from the long fever.

Mark had to smile to see Kian had sleep with his angelic face. “Sleep tide, Ki,” he kissed Kian’s forehead and pulled up the blanket till his chin.

“How we will tell, Mark?” an anxious voice heard form out side took Mark’s attention. He looked to the door which a bit opened and see the light out side. Somebody’s were talking. With curious, Mark went to peep. They were Sister Anne, Sister Theresa and Father Simon.

“How will we tell them, it will break them two? They never have been apart.”

“Yes, but they have to face it,” Sister Theresa sad as well as they how broke the boys will be.

“And Kian? We know he couldn’t far from the lad.”

“He would.  He has to. They want him, sister.”

Mark gasped. They want him. They wanted Kian. Kian will leave. Kian will have parents! Mark almost shout in joy but had to bit his lips and felt the tears, Kian’s gonna leave him. Kian will leave him. He wouldn’t see Kian again. He’s losing Kian!  Mark’s heart beat so fast. The joy and the sadness mixed, and he couldn’t describe his feeling. He couldn’t lose Kian, No. But it was for Kian happiness. Kian had found his happiness; Mark had to let him go. He smiled bitterly. He would give Kian’s happiness even had to be apart.

“Yes. But please, don’t give me the task of telling them, I can’t, Father.”

Sister Theresa turned to Father Simon, and he sighed with nodded, I’ll talk to him.”

“That’s no necessary, Father,” his voice shocking them.

The three of them whipped their head, “Mark?” with a surprised face.

“Have you eavesdropping?” Sister Theresa made a stern voice.

“Forgive me, Sister, I didn’t mean too.”

They looked the boy had been crying. They went silent.

“So you heard it all, love?”

“Yes, Sister. And don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Somehow I knew I would be lost him, we would never be together.” Mark forced a smile. It hurts inside, he’ll gonna lose Kian.

“Oh, my child,” Sister Anne wrapped the boy with love.

Mark pulled his strength up, “When will they gonna take Kian, sister?”

All of them went numb, and made a weird face.

“Is it tomorrow, sister?” Mark’s still giving a smile, a pain smile. “Will I have a chance to say good bye?”

They looked each other.

“Mark,” Sister Theresa spoke. “It’s not him who will be taken, son.”

Mark froze. “So, who will be taken?” with his confused eyes.

Sister Theresa looked to Father Simon.

Mark turned to Father Simon made him a little sighed, “It’s you, my child. You’ll be adopted, Mark, you’ll have parents and family.”

Mark numbed in pale.

“With Kian?” looking to his beloved sister.
